Fuel filter cartridge
Fuel filter cartridges mounted in dismountable casings are widely used for fuel filtering in large size trucks and heavy machines engines. Replaceable fuel filter cartridges in "EKO" version (without metal parts) are more popular in presently manufactured modern engines for cars, instead of can-type or in-line filters. This trend has originated from environment protection aspects, which forces manufacturers to maximalise filters utilisation after exploitation period. The cartridge replacement requires some experience, since there is more risk of leaving contaminants on inner walls, or in the casing, or even inserting it into the fuel system, than in the case of spin-on or in-line filters.
